The housing is pretty affordable, and varieties should fit most budgets. All utilities, including electricity, water, and heating, are very cheap. Groceries were actually a nice surprise in that they are quite affordable; there seems to be a really good mix of local and international goods available.
Transportation is very cheap because the public transport is very efficient. Health care, although not exactly up to Western standards, is nonetheless available and inexpensive for basic provisions.
You can retire comfortably in Bishkek, never having to empty your savings account if you budget carefully and adjust to the local style of living.
